I've been an avid needleworker for over 30 years and still love everything about it
and all it entails. Best therapy in the world!
During the past few years, during an extended illness that kept me down for
awhile, I had a lot of time to think about what I wanted in life and how I could make
it happen. I knew I wanted to do something that involved needlework (my passion),
but what exactly? I love to knit, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint, appliqué, and
just about anything that requires a sewing needle. I wanted something that would
provide flexibility to accommodate my Red Cross Volunteer work (which I love) and
also to visit my granddaughters for lunch at their schools, attend their school
functions, etc. I also wanted a little extra income!
After putting all the necessary ingredients together, Sweet Pea Jean's Stitchery
was founded. My granddaughters provided the name of my store. "Sweet Pea" is
one granddaughter's nickname and "Jean" is the other's middle name. I've
already started training them to assist me with "Grandma's store"!
